Registration for the third edition of the Unicamp Outstanding Thesis Award, an initiative of the Dean of Postgraduate Studies and the Central Postgraduate Commission (CCPG) that aims to recognize and reward outstanding doctoral theses defended in Unicamp programs, in all areas of knowledge, and encourage the constant search for excellence in research.
Awards
The author of the Unicamp Highlight Thesis will receive a prize worth R$5. An honorable mention will also be awarded to second place worth R$3. The authors, supervisors and co-supervisors of the awarded Theses will receive an Award Diploma signed by the Magnificent Rector of the State University of Campinas.
Application requirements
Doctoral theses defended at Unicamp in 2024 are eligible, provided they are approved by 31/03/2025, in each of the following areas of knowledge:
- Engineering and Technology
- Human Sciences and Arts
- Exact and Earth Sciences
- Biological and Health Sciences
Selection of Theses
The first stage of selection will be carried out by the Graduate Program Committees of each Teaching and Research Unit at UNICAMP, from April 07 to May 06, 2025. Each Graduate Program Committee must establish an Evaluation Committee, which must select only one thesis to compete for the award.
Evaluation process
The selected theses will be evaluated by the Judging Committee appointed by the Pro-Rector's Office for each area of knowledge. Criteria such as originality of the work, relevance to scientific, technological, cultural and social development, methodology used, quality of writing and structure and organization of the text will be taken into account. The result will be announced on July 22, 2025.
Registrations
Registration must be made exclusively through the Unicamp system request. At the time of registration, the candidate must already have their thesis defended and approved and have the advisor(s) agree to the registration.
