The Permanent Forum "Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity in the University Context" offers an important forum for reflection and debate on the challenges and progress made in promoting equity within universities. The program includes an introductory conference on the meanings and practices of diversity and inclusion in higher education, followed by thematic panels discussing the quality of academic experience for Indigenous peoples, people with disabilities, and issues of gender and race, with an emphasis on their intersections.
The event aims to broaden dialogue and foster strategies for building a more accessible, diverse, and inclusive university. Institutional experiences and policies will be discussed, as well as the role of affirmative action in reducing inequalities. These discussions hope to stimulate critical reflection and the development of practices that promote belonging, equity, and respect for diversity.
