Unicamp maintained its second position in the ranking of the best universities in Brazil, according to the 2027 edition of the research prepared by the British consultancy firm. Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, released this Thursday (18). The edition evaluated 8.808 institutions from 106 countries. Of this total, 1.504 universities were classified in the world ranking. In Brazil, 22 institutions were evaluated and ranked. The database used for the ranking included approximately 21 scientific publications, 222 citations, 1,6 million academic recommendations, and 600 employer recommendations. Unicamp's overall score was 47,9 points on a scale of 0 to 100. This relative performance indicates that the University ranks above 81,6% of the institutions classified in the world ranking.
Among Unicamp's main positive highlights are indicators such as academic reputation, in which the University achieved a score of 80,1, occupying the 98th position worldwide in this aspect and the 2nd position in Brazil. The University also performed well in the "international research network" indicator, obtaining a score of 81,9, with an index of 56,5, which surpasses the world average of 41,0. In the sustainability item, Unicamp achieved a score of 81,1, maintaining its prominent position in Brazil, also in 2nd place nationally. In the "citations per faculty member" indicator, the University obtained a score of 29,7, reaching the 2nd national position. This result indicates good relative performance in the Brazilian context in terms of the academic impact of scientific production.
