The rigorous judging process for the Unicamp Outstanding Thesis Award is based on criteria such as originality, scientific relevance, methodology, writing quality, and text organization.
This high standard of quality is ensured by a two-stage selection process. The first stage will take place from April 6th to May 5th, 2026, within the Graduate Program Committees, responsible for selecting one thesis per program. The second stage will take place from May 25th to July 24th, 2026, during which the theses selected in the previous stage will be evaluated by the Award Judging Committee, appointed by the PRPG (Postgraduate Research and Extension Office) through a published decree and organized into the following thematic areas: Engineering and Technology, Humanities and Arts, Exact and Earth Sciences, and Biological and Health Sciences. Each committee must nominate two theses: one for the Unicamp 2025 Outstanding Thesis Award, which will receive R$ 5, and another for Honorable Mention, which will receive R$ 3. This evaluation method has proven effective in promoting award-winning theses nationally. In the latest edition of the Unicamp Outstanding Thesis Award, two works were also recognized with the Capes Thesis Award, reinforcing the excellence of Unicamp's postgraduate programs.
The final results of this year's edition will be published on the PRPG website on July 29th, and registrations for theses defended in 2025 and approved by March 31st of this year can be made until April 03rd via [website/platform name - this needs to be filled in]. Request system.
