Unicamp participated with 8 works from the latest edition of Ministry of Defense/CAPES Competition for Dissertations and Theses on National DefenseThis initiative recognizes academic work of excellence focused on national defense, international security, technological innovation, and strategic areas for the country. The competition's financial prize, which can reach R$ 20 for authors and US$ 1.350 for advisors, represents a significant incentive for students and professors who wish to submit their work in future editions. In addition to the prize money, there is also the offer of travel expenses, per diem, and certificates, which increases academic visibility and contributes to the internationalization of the research recognized in the call for proposals.
Although the university did not rank among the top three in either of the two available categories, its participation reaffirms Unicamp's commitment to producing relevant and interdisciplinary knowledge, as well as the contribution of its graduate programs to issues of national interest.
The annual competition highlights research that engages with public policies, scientific advancements, and contemporary challenges in the field of defense. The thematic diversity of the works submitted by Unicamp demonstrates the institution's extensive activity, bringing together investigations ranging from political science and physical education to chemical engineering, advanced computing, and geopolitics.
